Where are you from?
I love rock climbing, mountain and street cycling, paddling, and running.
I love chilling with my dog, working on some sort of computer task – not school tasks, but ones that I have tasked myself to, whether is web-design, learning security or network programming, or working on the computer that I have recently started building.
If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
I would love to be able to control time. First, because I would never run out of time. Second, because how cool would it be to stop or slow down time in the middle of a rain storm?
Tell us something about you that might surprise us:
I hate (and am a little bit afraid of) dolphins because one tried to eat me the first time I went to SeaWorld. I was probably 8; it was my birthday.
What led you to FrogSlayer?
Another junior developer, Dylan Furlong and I used to work at the TAMU Outdoor Adventure Center. We realized we had a lot of similar interests and became friends. He let me know when FrogSlayer was hiring and the rest was history!
How did you get into your profession?
I started school as a premed, biology major. I thought being a doctor would be a noble job and it took me a while to realize that this was not actually something I wanted to commit my life to. At the end of my sophomore year, I did some reevaluating and came to the realization that I did have a passion that I could commit my life to. This passion would provide a plethora of opportunities, it would always provide new puzzles along with new things to learn and that passion was the ever evolving world of computer science. I went to my advisers, told them my deal, talked to them about what I need to do and then started a new journey.
If you could do a job in a different field for one day what would it be?
I think I would like to be a heart surgeon. That was my original goal when I started school so it would be interesting to see what I was missed.
Who are your heroes?
My heroes are the three hardest working, amazing men I have ever known: my father, Johnny Moreno, and my grandfathers, Gilbert Moreno and Jesse Reyes.
What are some characteristics about this company that you love?
I love the size; it is so easy to get to know everyone. The people here at FrogSlayer are all super nice and are always ready to help out and provide support. Also, is really great to have a boss that is so easy to get a hold of whenever I need to.
What is one thing you couldn't live without?
One thing I could absolutely not live without is my baby Cotton, the aforementioned dog. I swear she is a little person. She literally makes everything better on the darkest of days.
What would you do on a perfect day?
My perfect day would be me and my amazing girlfriend going rock climbing somewhere beautiful with our dogs. When we were too tired to climb anymore, we would spend the rest of the evening on a hammock somewhere with a Stephen King book.
