FrogSlayer, LLC President, Ross Morel, Honored at the 9th Annual Aggie 100 with the Youngest Honoree for 2013

Recognizing the Fastest Growing Aggie-Owned or Managed Companies in the World

COLLEGE STATION, TX (PRWEB) November 14, 2013

Working from his kitchen during his last year at Texas A&M, Ross Morel founded what would become FrogSlayer, LLC in 2010. Three years later, the software development and software consulting company has become a regional leader in developing cloud and mobile software products for their clients. Acquiring FrogSlayer Software Company in 2012, Morel quickly adopted the memorable FrogSlayer brand and company history, qualifying the young entrepreneur and his company for this years’ Aggie 100 program.

The 9th annual Aggie 100 event hosted nearly 700 attendees at a luncheon held at The Zone Club at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field. The event honored the fastest-growing companies in the world, owned or operated by Texas A&M University former students. The program was created by the Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship in Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School, as a way of recognizing graduates from various disciplines for their entrepreneurial endeavors and success as business leaders. Dr. R. Bowen Loftin, President of Texas A&M University, introduced the event’s keynote presenter, R.C. Slocum, Special Advisor to the President, who addressed the honorees on topics of dedication, leadership, and commitment.

FrogSlayer was ranked 18th with a compound annual growth rate of 83.25% from 2010 through 2012.

“It’s an incredible honor to be named and recognized among these Aggie business leaders from around the world. It’s even more special being a local company and seeing the others from Bryan/College Station that made the list this year. My personal entrepreneurial journey has deep roots here in Aggieland. Hiring and training students, our delivery model is tied heavily to Texas A&M. In fact, our first contract was with [Texas] A&M. This award is a testament to our clients, employees, Texas A&M and the Bryan/College Station community,” stated Morel.

About the Aggie 100
The Aggie 100, the first of its kind at the college level, was created by the Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship in Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School, whose mission is to provide encouragement, education, networking and assistance to entrepreneurially-minded students, faculty and Texas businesses. The Aggie 100 is a unique way for Texas A&M University to demonstrate its pride in the accomplishments of its former students while enriching the educational experience for today’s students.
While there are many ways to define business success, the Aggie 100 focuses on growth as an indicator of job creation, product acceptance, and entrepreneurial vision. The Aggie 100 identifies, recognizes, and celebrates the 100 fastest growing Aggie-owned or Aggie-led businesses in the world.

To qualify, companies were required to meet the following criteria:

  •     In business for 5 years or more as of June 30, 2013,
  •     Verifiable revenues of $250,000 or more for calendar year 2010, and
  •     Operations consistent with the Aggie Code of Honor.
